Forests by Calixto Bieito

The Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company along with director Calixto Bieito and Barcelona International Theatre presents a work inspired by the many references to the forests that are in the works of Shakespeare.

With a cast of Catalan and English actors led by actor Josep Maria Pou, this plays shows, through fragments of works like Timon of Athens, Dream of a Summer Night, King Lear, Macbeth and As You Like It, a forest that sometimes represents a place of escape, punishment, or sentence, and in others, a host of redemption.

Forests is part of the World Shakespeare Festival, a celebration dedicated to one of the most important playwrights of the theatre's history, organized by the Royal Shakespeare Company in collaboration with both British and international art institutions.
